Dammit apple! Only six months after I got my iTouch 3g and it looks like if I want to get the best games available on the app store I’m going to have to upgrade. Now frankly I find this more than a little bit frustrating especially as if I had bought the 32GB model this wouldn’t be such a problem. However games are starting to be released which require you to have a 3rd gen 32gb or a 3gs and I have neither. Of course this only applies to a few games (Xenome(which is getting an update to make it playable on a 2G) and Espagluda off the top of my head) but it’s still worrying.
However even if I was given the choice I wouldn’t upgrade. I would much prefer to get the 3DS partly because some of the games being released on it look awesome( Damn Ocarina of time looks awesome :O) but also because DSs don’t become outdated as quickly as iDevices. If you had, for example, one of the first DSs ever to be released it would still play all the new DS games that have been released. I know this means that some developers don’t make use of all the new features the newest DS’s have but for the most part I wouldn’t be too bothered if it meant I didn’t have to update it every two years or so.
So…which would you have? iPhone 4G/iTouch 4G or the 3DS?
Personally, since I have an iphone4 I would rather have the 3ds. Ocarina of time was probably my favorite game when I was younger. If I didn’t have an iPhone 4, I would probably prefer the 4g, because of the larger hacking community.
